wow, Don. You have really had one hell of a time health-wise. So sorry you have had these miserable experiences. Friend of mine was also "watching" an abd aneurysm. Fortunately, it caused considerable pain when it ruptured so she knew to get to hosp. She was at the time already driving near a great hospital in New Orleans and they saved her.
when did you have the surgery, Don. Where is this aneurysm? You have mentioned it before. So sorry you have to worry all the time about it. Prayers for you.
Had a colon resectioning in 2006 or 7. Turned out to be a major surgery (7 hours) as I mentioned above. Soon after the surgery I had a multi-organ failure and the paramedics couldn't even find a pulse. It was only then that I was diagnosed with COPD. A few years later while having a spirometry and talking with the two nurses there; the both agreed that it sounded like the toxins from my bowels had leaked into my abdominal walls.
As for the aneurysm - Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. The hospitalist who was a military trauma field surgeon before becoming an ER doc diagnosed it via CT scan and said it was small and didn't require surgery but to monitor it.
I've had an interesting life - had polio at 3 or 4 years old and double pneumonia.
Decent amount of walking but nothing else for today:
Five rounds of 5 minutes at 1 mph.
Still being precautious with my aneurysm; also have some groin pain that is from scar tissue from diverticulitis/diverticulosis surgery. The procedure turned out to be a seven hour surgery as there was damage in the area between the two intestines which didn't show on the colonoscopy.
