Sandy, I am pasting a link here about Oxygen Bars. If it doesn't come through, go to wikipedia and search for Oxygen Bars. Or use any search engine. I use DuckDuckGo as it is not supposed to track your searches like google does, not that I have anything to hide, I just think whatever I am interested in is nobody's business for commercial use as you know they use that info to market you. I don't want to be marketed. It is frustrating because I don't have any money either. It makes me grumpy to be marketed so much and commercials are the main reason I don't watch TV nowadays. And I do use an ad blocker for the internet, too.
I dunno whether these places to socialize also serve alcoholic beverages along with scented oxygen but seems to me it would up the revenue expoentially. Oh hey, didn't I read once that oxygen helps one sober up. Dynamite combination to serve them both if the intent is to get plastered. I'd buy stock in that.
Don, sorry to hear you are under the weather. What a way to start out the new year. When we went to visit my cousin on NYE, his wife had sniffles. Come to think of it, so did he. Said it was blocked sinuses, but she was sneezing and he wasn't. Hope I haven't been doomed. Dunno whether they know about my copd. I don't advertise.
Sandy, so very happy for you that you are feeling better today. Thank you for the compliment. I am a fellow sufferer with the same diagnosis, chronic bronchitis with an asthma component and I think they said some emphysema too. Hyperinflation, scarring, etc. I was first prescribed Advair back around 15 years ago but it was a lighter version than I use now and came in a spray inhaler. Now it is the 250/50 round lilac/purple thing with 60 powdered doses. You need a bit of lung power to draw it all out. This is not a form of med where you could use a spacer to help make sure you get the full dose like I could the spray version. Before you invest in Advair from overseas, it might be a good idea to ask your Dr. if there is any reason why you shouldn't take it, like perhaps you are already getting steroids in another medication.
When I first started using Advair was when I first noticed getting muscle cramps and spasms. I was taking it as prescribed at 2 doses a day, 12 hours apart. Because I got so spastic, I cut the dose back to one per day. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all medication doses because a 300 lb man gets the same prescription as me at less than half his weight.
Yes, I began drawing ss at 62 also and as prices go up every day, I have to pull some from my retirement savings which kills me to do so I continue to struggle to live within my means on principle. I am a one-earner household.
No Medicare Part D either. I was told I could get more help if I didn't have it and this has turned out to be very true. I suppose it helps to live in a rural area with a lot of other poor people and we have a wonderful clinic here. Three months of Advair costs me less than a good meal in a decent restaurant. You might also apply with the drug manufacturer. Lots of them have programs to help afford your meds and I got my Spiriva Respimat through the mail at no cost. I didn't apply this year because just like the Advair, I only take half the dose as Spiriva tends to affect my eyesight so I still have about a year's worth of meds here.
I didn't mean to get so verbose today. Sorry for running on so long. Seems that lately socializing with other people has kinda brought me out of my shell, so to speak. Thank you for listening.
Thank you Joy for starting this post. Forgive the vulgarity but I hacked up some green stuff so it looks like I'm fighting pneumonia (walking). Prolly won't be doing a whole lot of exercise for a while (awhile?). That's a really good amount of steps for the day Joy; pert near what healthy folks do.
I did do 10 counter push-ups and 10 arm swings but that was like a lot of work for me.
Sandy: So glad you are feeling better; I know you've been on the down side of the roller coaster ride lately. Now that you're feeling better it would be a good time to start an exercise routine no matter how small.
Keep up the exercising, it's our best weapon.

Added 10 rounds of 1 minute at 1 mph. Wuz hopping for more but I'll take what I can get. Also did 5 bicep curls and 5 shoulder presses.
I love your humor , I also was diagnosed with the copd as having chronic bronchitis , emphysema, and an amount of Asthma but, do not know how much , but I know I have had some symptoms that relate a lot to asthma which makes me wonder. I wonder if I could take Advair. I looked it up it said it was better for allergies than the generic I take for singular . I would have to get it from out of the country I cannot afford inhaler prices in the US , and I do not have medicare D , I took my social security early with regrets now and I get about 500 or so less than those that waited till 65 . Joy what are Oxygen Bars.? Knock on wood I feel better today than I have felt in a couple of months .
Yesterday's walking was done on the dreadmill while having a telephone conversation with an old friend. Normally I cannot walk and talk at the same time but with her I get to just listen as I cannot get a word in anyway. Giggle. 2772 steps.
I say yesterday because walking was done on Jan 1st. Thread for Jan 1st was opened Jan 2nd. Who knows what will happen yet today.
