I thought it was the artificial heat during winter that was causing the profuse mucus every morning. I have to blow my nose many times, yet I do not have sinus problems, post nasal drip or any coughing. Nothing new in bedroom that would be the source of an irritant. Guess I should be glad I don't have post nasal drip, but I have to stop and blow while trying to take nebulizer treatments. Anyone else have suggestion or similar experience?

Thanks, Audrey. Mine is only in the morning (I rise rather late) and only lasts about 30 min. The mucus is very thin. This runny nose does not seem to have anything to do with my breathing, but it is dang inconvenient to keep blowing nose while making coffee and loading nebulizer - LOL
I think a runny nose is one of the mysteries of COPD it goes along with good breathing days and bad breathing days. No real explanation. I will get a runny nose sometimes just as you said no cold or coughing.
Don, the runny nose starts almost the minute I sit up in bed and LONG before I begin the nebulizer treatment, since I generally fix my coffee first and feed the dog. Thanks for your suggestion
I wish I had a firm answer to that one Petra. Since around Christmas, my wife, mother-in-law and myself have been having real bad sinus issues. In our case however, we do have post-nasal drip and coughing. My wife has had some relief from using mucinex daily. You may consider a new nebulizer cup and hoses as they are susceptible to bacteria. Just a thought.
Hopefully, some others will pop in with some thoughts. ... If you try the mucinex, be sure it's the expectorant and not the decongestant.
