OutofAfrica - so sorry you had to go through all the ER stuff, but I would definitely have been equally concerned following the stroke you mentioned. Hope all is going well now.
Seems like Church is a risky business too Petra - Son is down with what is probably another dose of flu symptoms started yesterday with a high temperature, headache and the chills. Usually it starts on a Tuesday but there was a funeral in the week so the timing was right for where he picked it up. We haven't even got to Winter yet but weather has been weird. Had just on 2 inches of rain over 24 hours so it is wet and soggy at the moment. My bones feel the barometer drop the day before. But have been swinging through very hot days with the temperature plummeting for a day or two and then hot again. Temperatures have also been high some days for Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.
Sharon, I hate to be a nervous Nelly, but that sounds pretty risky. Kids collect all manner of unhealthy microbes on their hands, clothes and hair and bring them to your house.
Hope all feel a lot better when Spring arrives. Condolences on the loss of your Brother Fat Puppy. Had a dose of flu in the middle of summer. My Son brought it home from Church as that is the only place he had been so it was duly named The Holy Flu - took forever to get rid of the last of the cough. Thanks Heavens for nebs. Has been really hot and humid the last few days and we could do with some rain again to cool the earth down. My Daughter is waiting on news if any of the family in the pre-school she works for were killed or injured in the Christchurch massacre as they have quite a few Muslim children. The wicked are at work in the world.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes! On the bright side:
1. Have my 3 beautiful grandchildren (10, 6 and 5) visiting this weekend
2. Last lobectomy I spent 14 days in the hospital because my left lung kept collapsing. If they remove the rest of it, that won't be a problem this time!
3. Company I work for is closing the local office and laying off 45 people. Fortunately, there are 48 employees in this office and I'm one of the 3 that's keeping my job and moving from the office to home based!
4. Hip is getting better and able to move around without a cane now. Still sore but getting better every day
5. Got special friends like y'all to bitch to that understand when things go bad :)
Putting a smiley face at the end of your post speaks volumes about your spirit and character. I hope and pray that as Spring arrives, all of our spirits and bodies will be lifted up.
Hope things get going uphill for those who have been troubled from health and other hurtful things , hoping there will be more sunshine for you. I am going to start a new post.
Hope the coming months will be better for you. You sure have had a rough time. Sorry for the loss of your brother.
Here! Been a truly crap winter. Cold from hell and flu in January. Brother died and fell on the ice and broke my hip in February. CT with contrast found a new 1.3 cm node on the bottom lobe of my left lung so have a PET scan next Friday for that. Left upper lobe was removed 3 1/2 years ago for lung cancer. But I'm still kicking :)
Sorry to hear that Joy; today is the first day of Spring . . . . tell that to my body. Hope things get better for all of us.
Here. Very bad winter for us. Nuff said.
Here - mostly sleeping these days.
Here hiding out on game site wishing I would get busy and post more. I love to read others posts. Jane pops in from time to time, I think maybe she has 3 listings for her name unless there is another Jane. I have Email for her but she did not reply. Joy and Mike will probably pop in.
Oh well I am 4 - Millie is still with us I chat to her at times on Facebook. Sandy is here. Laura had computer problems and I haven't heard from her for ages. Did email but no reply. Hoping Laura is alive and well and just incommunicado - I miss her. Other than Millie I think all the folks who were chatting away on the old COPD International when I first joined after my COPD diagnosis many years ago are no longer with us - many fondly remembered.
Three replies out of thirty-five members . . . not sure if it's worth it to maintain this site . . . . . .
still here !
Hello again Sharon, I too am so sorry you're going through so much. I can kinda understand the tomato issue as tomatoes are very acidic.
Yes Sharon, I get scabs but mine I think are from the fact that I have a perforated septum - and no! - it's not from cocaine but from years of inhaling toxic chemicals like lacquer thinner and paint thinner.
Besides Audrey's suggestions you might consider using a humidifier; dry air is not our friend.
I Will pray for a speedy recovery and maybe you can get back to posting some stuff regularly.
Hi Sharon glad to hear you are on the mend. Sorry to hear you have been so sick. It takes a long time to recover from pneumonia. I use Ayr nasal gel for my nose it helps, also saline nasal sprays are good too.
Hi Don,
Sorry it's been so long. I was diagnosed with the Flu Type 5 and pneumonia. Yes, I had the shots but apparently I still got it! The flu lasted about 2 weeks and I'm in the 4th week of pneumonia. Hopefully I
start getting better. I've had it before and I can count on about 6 weeks for recovery. At least I can see
some headway. Also, I thought I had a bladder infection but tested negative for that. Turns out I have an interstitial bladder condition! The doc told me it was probably food related, so she gave me a hand out with
the foods and drinks to avoid. I've nailed it down to tomatoes. After eating tomatoes or anything made with tomatoes, my bladder gets intense pain a few hours later. The pain lasts 3-5 hours depending on amount consumed. I've been going to post but just didn't feel up to it.
Hope all is well with everyone else!
Sharon
P.S. Does anyone else get scabs in their nose from O2 use. Normally I don't, but I've had to up the litter flow
in order to stay between 85-93% saturation.
