It appears that the original COPDI is gone forever. I go there occasionally to post out site for any that might be interested and the last time I tried I get I big "SERVICE UNAVAILABLE." Sure wish more members would have registered with us, now it's too late.............Sad.
same here
Thanks Thena, but all I found were messages from 9//29/13 - 10/8/13. Apparently I don't understand how to use this site.
Petra, try this link, it will take you to the saved message boards from March 2016

I could have sworn I posted something... hmmm... The older files from copd-i and Jeral's site (for the great info that was there) can be found at https://web.archive.org/ just input the site name and the archived sites will come up. Sad that they had to take down the forums, but last time I visited there, it was almost all spam.
Thanks, Thena. Checked out COPDI - glad to see the message boards were saved.
Could not figure out how to use that site, Thena. Is there some secret?
You can go to webarchive to find a lot of the old info that is no longer there... Jeral's site, copd-i, etc.

Thanks, Audrey.
Very well said Petra and I agree. Thank you Don.
The reason COPDI could not prevail after the demise of the webmaster lay in the fact that he had never instructed anybody as to how to manage the site should he become incapacitated. Also, as I understood the chatter, he had failed to update the site periodically and thus created some kind of technological difficulty with the domain, not to mention the fact that the site-fee was not paid. Jeral explained it all, but I'm definitely not one to understand geek-speak.
Jeral, by the way, was very shabbily treated when he invited COPDI members to join the new site and warned them all that the COPDI site would be shutting down. It was shameful the way some of them spoke to and about him.
It would seem to me that when people claim to want to help, they would want a competent substitute site manager to keep things running smoothly in the event of an unfortunate incident. Fortunately, for us, Don has been able to jump in and fill Jeral's role. We are all very grateful to you everyday, Don.
Part of it is still up - basically static text areas. The message boards are no longer active. Someone has been trying to keep the boards open, but they were always swamped with spam. Guess they gave up.
I would check there too from time to time hoping to reach the members we lost from Jeral's site. It's strange that it actually stayed up for so long and now suddenly gone.
It IS sad Don. I appreciate all that you have done on this site for all of us! I remember back when things were not looking good for the site and then it was gone! I kept going back hoping I could reach someone. I think, if my memory serves me right, you or someone else put up a link for this site and I gladly check it out. I was excited to see some names I recognized!
Maybe we need to look at it as a new frontier where some new people might come to explore and hopefully some of "the COPDI people" will eventually find us. Just a thought. Thanks again Don!
