Thank you, Don. As a matter of fact, I have a pair of Skechers shoes beside the dreadmill right now. They aren't Uno's but are certainly better than what I've been wearing lately. I will vacuum the spiders and cobwebs out of them tomorrow and put them back on.
Or maybe I should pawn my new chair for a pair of the new Nike Vaporflys.
Omigosh, I don't know what I did to cause it, but lost my post which started out praising Don for all his efforts today. So consider yourself praised, Don. My hat is off to you for your efforts today.
Yeah, I'll take 2238 nowadays, too, and be grateful that I made that much daily progress towards my weekly snail badge. As far as 10,000 steps goal for a healthy person, that goal is more arbitrary than scientific. I've read in the past week that 4,400 is far more realistic.
Anyway, I think the old fitbit gave me far more step credit than the new one does, and do plan to do some future timed studies at the same rate of walking speed wearing one at a time. As the battery ran down on the new one with the replacement charger not yet arrived, I wore the old one today. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I read 4185 steps on it tonight. You could knock me over with a feather anyway because I am tired to the bone and do realize that better shoes are needed to walk on concrete store floors. I am not fit for anything right now except to binge-watch videos and just hope I can get out of my chair tomorrow.
Well, here it is, another day in paradise. Thought I was starting out pretty good with doing 20 counter push-ups and 30 arm swings; then the DM. I walked three times for three minutes at 1.1 mph; and I really struggled to get there. I hope I can get my breathing to improve; I have been trying to focus on belly breathing as I have in the past - for the most part - used my intercostal muscles. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
By the grace of God........I B BACH!!!
OK, I'm BACH: Did another round on the DM for a total (so far) of 12 minutes; did 15 bicep curls - dah-zit for now. As General Douglas MacArthur once said: "I shall return.".............I hope.
I'm BACH again!!!
Had a serious 2 hour conversation with Mr. Pillow. Did three more rounds on the DM for a grand total of 21 minutes which equals 1638 steps. I don't have a ped-o-meter but I actually counted how many steps I take at 1.1 mph; it's 78. If I add my average around the house steps of 600 that's 2238; that's almost a quarter of what a healthy person is supposed to walk........I'll take that. I also added 15 shoulder presses and hopefully after supper I can get in some wrist/forearm curls and some step-up/step-downs and maybe even some pedal bike time..........that last one might be a little iffy.
Joy: I hope that some others that read these posts get a little motivated to try a few; there are some real easy sit-down videos in the helpful links.
Wasn't gonna post any more today but since it's looking like a diamond day I figured...........why not:
Did 25 wrist/forearm curls, 2 minutes on the pedal bike, 8 step-up/step/downs and 12 hand grips. Now I'm gonna veg in front of the idiot box (TV) till I get tired.........GNYL
