Thank you rjh, a couple of times I felt it could be starting on the back of my tongue like you said. My pulmo told me after using the Advair to not only rinse but to brush my teeth as well. Now when I brush my teeth I also brush my tongue. So on my next does of it I made sure to brush that area really well, and it would go away. Yes, you were very helpful to me. I always wondered if it would go on the roof of ones mouth or on the gums. Thank you, now I know what to watch out for.
Sorry for the delay popcorn. First thing I will notice is a inflammation feeling n the back of my mouth, both on the roof and back of the tongue. I have an upper plate and the inflammation starts right at the rear of it. If you let it go further you will definitely know something is not right. The Clotrimazole discs dissolving in your mouth will relieve the symptoms rather quickly. I have never had to take the whole dose as prescribed. After I started using a Micro Chamber the amount of times dramatically reduced That is your best first step along with rinsing your mouth out after using the inhalers that seem to cause this problem. I hope this gives you some information you can use. I've been on oxygen over ten years now and have got many answers here, I know you have been around for quite a while also and I'm sure you have got a lot of help out here also. Have a good day popcorn, Dick
I was prescribed a medicine that has really worked for me with thrush. It is important to use as soon as you think you may have thrust starting. it is Clotrimazole and is a wafer that you hold in your mouth and let it melt away like a piece of candy.
Millie: I really don't know much about thrush personally, only what I have heard; that you can get it if you don't gargle with water after using an ICS inhaler. I also googled it and there's a lot of information out there about it. You might want to check it out but if you have it, an antifungal - antibiotic is usually prescribed.

Rjh1936, could you tell me what thrush feels like?
How do you know if you're getting it?
Thank you
Thank you for that information rjh1936; I looked it up and it's even on the W.H.O.s list of essential medicines.

I've never had thrush either, but the kids used to get it. The doctor advised feeding them plain, unsugared yogurt. That seemed to work.
