Living down south must be awful with all these storms coming in one after another. I know that my breathing gets worse when the barometer drops with weather changes. I am so sensitive to temperture, humidity, and odors. The west coast is suffering with smoke from all the fires and the south is preparing for another major storm. Both of these conditions would be unbearable for me at this time.
I feel so sorry for all that have lost everything.
We don't even have a bus service never mind a valet service Petra. There are Doctors with more convenient rooms but this Doctor is not only good but charges far less than others for those who have no medical insurance. His consultation fee also includes any medication you might need, It is no frills rooms with a framed Muslim Prayer being the only decor. Unfortunately I don't read Arabic so I will ask if I go again which one it is. You could drop someone off at the door but as I was driving had to go and park but after 4 months he has now been given the green light to drive again.which is a relief. One of the new Doctors that has recently opened a practice in the area is looking in to the viability of having his own shuttle service for those who battle with no transport but it would very much depend on the cost as to how many people would use it,
Sorry you had to deal with that. One would think a doctor's office would provide special parking for those who find walking up hill difficult. Do they not have valet parking or a shuttle service? I would NEVER be able to walk out of the parking lot up to my doc's office. It is a parking pit , actually, but they have valet service at the front door, thank goodness.
We had one of the few brilliant summer days yesterday and it felt so much better. With the continual rain even the curtains feel slightly damp to the touch. Went to the Doctor with my Son last week and it is rather s stiff uphill walk from where you can park and that was almost mission impossible - eish
I feel like a better weather predictor than our weatherman... If I'm short of breath in the a.m., I can tell it is going to rain or snow. Once it does, the tightness seems to go away.
Thanks Petra, The work is worthwhile. Mike
WOW MIKE !!! Sounds as though you are doing really well. Congratulations.
Breathing through your nose warms the air a bit. In the later stages of COPD a scarf cover over the nose helps to warm the air too. Your exercise routine has enabled you to do this without becoming short of breath.
Temp was zero degrees when I got up this morning but the Mrs said she had to go out about noon. Thinking back to what my doc said about the cold.....I bundled up, including hood and very heavy gloves, opened my airways with inhaler and ventured outside to blow the snow out of driveway, 4inches. He warned me to keep my mouth shut and go slow so I could breath through my nose. When I was done I had a cold nose but was not SOB, I think my Doc knows what he is talking about. thought I would post as it turned out to be good advice for me. Mike
When the black clouds blow in I don't do so great either - I always wanted a barometer but when eventually got one it doesn't seem to work so weather is always fair according to it lol. World seems to be full of floods, fires and earthquakes all of which are destructive and your heart goes out to all those who have lost their homes and even more to the families who have lost lives.
