It seems that I'm now sensitive to cooking odors too. I can be feeling pretty good yet if I go out to the kitchen when my daughter is doing a lot of cooking, baking, frying, etc. it seems to just shut down my lungs. Does this bother anyone else?
I 'm also sensitive to cleaning products and perfumes.
My worst is when my wife self-cleans the oven, have to open the windows even in the dead of winter. I think we somehow simply become more sensitive to odors. I smell things that nobody else does. Strangely; others smell odors that I don't - go figure.
Oddly enough, it's our brain that detects the odors and sends a signal to our lungs to cease and desist. And all this time we thought our brain was there to protect us.
Guess we're just stuck with it.
