Sandy, I have googled today and find the same advice, that it is better to take your blood pressure meds at night. I have always taken my diltiazem at night, which lowers the heart rate and also reduces blood pressure because it's normally the last thing I do before going to bed, therefore easy to remember to do.
The few times I have forgotten to take my meds the night before have resulted in an increased heart rate the next day and it takes a whole 8 hours to begin to get my heart rate and BP down as my diltiazem is an extended release pill.
