I really hate spraying anything in my nose - kind of creeps me out. lol But when you can't breathe, that's even worse - so I've used Metaspray from ADC a number of times. It works for me.
I will call the pharmacist that filled my script last year. They will know exactly what I was prescribed. I certainly won't use the bactroban if it's not right for me. Thanks for all the trouble you've gone through to
Sharon: I checked with ADC and they only make the mupirocin - not the nasal. Please check with your doctor before using this - it's a topical product for bacteria such as impetigo. I started using Ayr saline gel that Audrey suggested and I think it might work.
Sharon: I just looked up Bactroban and it says specifically NOT to use in the nose. There IS a Bactroban Nasal which would be the Mupirocin Nasal as a generic. I would check with ADC to make sure you are getting the right one.
Yes Sharon, I have that problem too. I have a perforated septum and I always thought that was the reason; that and being on o2 24/7. Thanks for the heads-up on Bactroban, will give that a try. PS: there is a version of Bactroban for nasal; it's called: Mupirocin nasal the regular should not be used in the nose.
Maybe I'll try that, many nights my nose feels "stuffy" and I have a hard time sleeping.
Speaking of noses, last year and this year (both times in March) I got scabs in one of my nostrils. My doc prescribed Bactroban which cleared it up. Anyone else have this problem?
I know we're not supposed to take mucinex with the decongestant which supposedly dries out the mucous and we can't cough it up. I was wondering if the same applies to antihistamines. I had my wife get some for her post nasal drip and I took it myself for 2 nights. Had the best sleep I've had in years. Seems to have opened my sinuses enough to breathe through my nose all night. Woke tired but otherwise felt pretty good. Looking for some input.

I have been using an antihistamine for years in the spring, helps me sleep. Mike
Will do, Thanks Don!

Thanks Audrey and Don.
I will try the Ayr products, appreciate the advice!
Don, I just ordered some Mupirocin from ADC. I'll have to check to make sure I can use it in my nose.
What's the difference? I have a deviated septum and am on O2 24/7!

Ayr saline gel helps dry nose or saline sprays.

That fact the it helped you is good. It treats the allergy part of your sinus problem. I don't see why it would not be safe to take.
