I just had an awful scare. I was content playing games on my pc in the computer room. All of a sudden my nose starts bleeding. Then I hear what sounds like an animal screaming. At first I was frozen, then I got up and frightfully peeked around the doorway. I didn't see an animal. Cautiously I start walking toward the awful screaming. I was so fearful I was going to see a racoon or something similar. To my relief it was my oxygen concentrator. With my delivery today i had them bring me a couple of humidifiers for my concentrator because my nose is so dry. I had them conect it because bebecause I couldn't figure it out but told them I would put the water in later. However I didn't and that was what was causing that awful sound. The humidifiers are so sensitive. A few years ago, my concentrator stopped working. FoFound out it was because the cap to the humidifier wasn't screwed on right. I'm still going to call them tomorrow to make sure everything is ok.
I write this so people on oxygen know crazy things can happen with the little plastic humidifier. Not tobto be frightened like I was.
Thank you so much for the information. Strange noises frighten me - have to pry me off the ceiling. I stopped using the humidifier because I just couldn't stand all the water in the hose, then in my nose. Felt like I was drowning. It's worse than ever with the new unit the DME gave me - year round water instead of just in winter.
