This could be such a great site for people with COPD sharing experiences, knowledge and friendship. We can extend a helping hand and feel better and not so scared because we are not alone in ththis fight.
This is after we are told it would be a long wait for it to come back on. Other than that I would just use my tanks for a few hours. That is if I had enough on hand.
Good question. I would have my brother in law pack up my concentrator with a few tanks and head to one of my sisters. Years ago I called the electric company as we are told to let them know we are on 02. But basically they said I would have to have as plan B they can't just do my house alone, which makes sense.
Had electric go out at least 3 times this year for 2 to 4 hours , I have the 2 small tank cannisters that I use for for going to the doctor , think 1 is for 13 hours and the other about 9 hours, I do not do great on pulse but can make it work....a number of years ago our electric was out from an ice storm from Christmas eve until New years eve did not use oxygen then ......What would you do if a situation like this happened , the hospital would have generators but everyone else with oxygen would try to get it from there. Just a thought.....
Millie: Maybe if you have a concern or a question you could post it and hopefully get some replies from some of the other members. I know that we all care about each other and we all have had different experiences.
So true, but sad. I would love to share and offer whatever I can. I'm afraid I would need more help than I can give. Still not that knowledgeable even though I've been on oxygen 24/7 for over 12 years. It seems people are reading but not many are sharing. I'm guilty of this myself, but would love to get this group sharing and getting to know one another.
When Jeral's website went dark, I was only able to see and contact 41 members; of that, only 35 membered here. A few have found us on a search engine so I know that we are searchable. I would be pleased as punch if even just our 35 members participated more, however it seems that everyone is content with the status- quo and apparently have no questions, suggestions or issues to share. Someone once said "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink."
