Nice to see you Joy doubt there are many back here numbers are few. Hoped Audrey is OK in New York. May 3rd still in lockdown. Some pretty weird decisions made here you can buy more than essential food winter clothes were opened but no underwear from the same store. Online sales other than essential items still not allowed. I have also not really bothered to follow much on the news. Sometimes I think it should have run its course like any other flu as people are going to die of starvation. Don't know how long feeding schemes will keep all covered as only just over a month and most have no employment anymore especially those in the lower income groups as most not essential workers.
So pleasantly surprized to see members here still communicating with one another. Haven't read everything newly posted here yet, but it was interesting to me that under the new coronavirus guidelines where I live, only essential businesses are allowed to be open. Tobacco is obviously considered to be essential as cigarette stores are operating normally. Kentucky has historically been a leading producer of fine tobacco and I am certain over a lifetime, I did smoke my fair share..
Bars here are closed, but liquor stores are still open. Was prolly a month they were sold out until I could again get my favorite 190 proof alcohol, I reckon folks were buying it to make hand sanitizer. The main reason I love it is one ounce goes a long way and when used for medicinal purposes, beats any sleeping pill I have ever been prescribed.
The other reason I love it, is that when I watch the daily coronavirus statistics on new cases/deaths, that I don't spend the rest of the day crying. I figure depending on how much I have imbibed, I am already pretty much sterilized. You folks who know me will realize I am for the most part joking.
Battling to get a new topic to post but just hope all are safe. We are on Day 12 of lockdown. Only stores that are open are grocery stores and pharmacies. Only items that can be bought in supermarkets are food items and nothing ready made so a lot of people will have to learn how to cook. All restaurants and fast food outlets are also closed. There has been a ban on the sale of alcohol and cigarettes so no sinners out there anymore. How successful the lockdown will be I don't know as we have many squatter camps where people live on top of each other and many have TB and Aids. Thankful we are out in the sticks and not in a city and our local shop has kept a good supply running so we haven't had to leave our village. Although it is more expensive than a supermarket being housebound we have nothing else to spend on and our needs are few. I hadn't baked for quite a while as we had been supporting local who did for an income but the baking pans have come out again. I think it might be extended after the 21 days but we will see. It is very hard for those who live on their own and thankful I have company and my dog. Hope all stay safe and we will still be in contact after this pandemic finally ends. Blessings to all.
Cannot remember what I was going to write back then when this was first posted , so I will use it for today, first off we've had some chilly weather , and its going to be a lot colder by afternoon today with strong winds and 22 degree' by tonight so I called the Pulmonary and cancelled my appointment for Wed. and I do not have any hot water without heating it , have cold but still do not have leaks repaired.
A few days ago my phone was not updating ( I know very little about the thing) and only got it to piddle with I only have 2 phone numbers listed Electric Co and Internet. And I like Good Rx. Had to figure out how to use them on my own. I have used the electric # several times when service went out , last time it was for 5 hours. That was where a guy jumped out of the bucket and broke both legs when the bucket touched the power lines and caught on fire. Anyhow after trying so many things , I looked at the messages ( I have automatic bill pay from bank) and it showed my payment was not received on time).
So I called several numbers on the phone and never did get someone you could talk to all of it automated and anything I punched they ask me for numbers I did not have. I don't know about other people ,but it wears me out to go over and over on something and get nowhere / Evert has taken the phone down to the phone store now.
Then I tried calling the bank that we have been with for 30 years , they just recently changed their name but we still have same account no#. Before just recently they would answer Good Morning or afternoon How can I help you?. Now its all automated and there nothing on it to ask a question, which was going to be, Did they know of any reason why the Phone was not paid ? You could leave a voice mail and wait around for someone to call back, so I did not talk to them , I wonder if it had anything to do with name change. I know one thing first chance I get I will sure tell them about it and that I just might change banks.
Finally, My med's order from ADC has been held up in Chicago at customs since 10/30/19 anyhow the tracking has not been updated since then and one of those pills I am supposed to take the same day every month. I had a chat with ADC on last Thur and they said give it a few more days to update, so if that is not going to get here, I will need to know so I can call the doctor and get 1 pill prescribed and I need the phone for the good RX to get a better price because my printer is not working to print it out, and Have to get the computer I ordered ready to send back for repair they sent a label but I cannot print it..
So now that you've read all this boring stuff Have a good Day...

Sandy: You can just call the pharmacist and ask them to check goodrx for a better price even if you don't have the printout.
