The last roll call was last February and there was an incredible amount of replies. It is a great way for all of us to give their support to one another - I pray we can see a similar response this time, perhaps even more.
You can say that again Don turns 96 in a few weeks and her one Sister has her 100th birthday in February but she is of sound mind. The patience did run thin on a couple of occasions but with 18 months of broken sleep and not always feeling up to par myself it was tiring and I am counting the days now. I fed her too well she put on 10lbs and I lost 10lbs. Everybody else is well we have survived no water for 9 days and load shedding which finally hit Stage 6 which was no power for 2 hours 4 times a day. We have 2 water tanks and have now put a tap through to the bathroom from the rainwater tank so a bucket can be filled without going outside and looking at possibly putting in a 3rd tank. All this in the 21st century - I recall a song about the 21st century. Unfortunately we only have a small airport with a 28 seater that flies in and out and she will no longer manage the steps into the plane so we are driving up. We will break the trip half way and sleep overnight and may do the same coming home again. Nice to see you have moved to a warmer climate Don and I hope it has eased things although climates seem rather muddled at the moment. Our drought has been broken by a few days of torrential rain and just had 2 days of gale force wind which is most unusual for this part of the world in December and it was decidedly cool heading for the summer solstice. Nice to see Mike has finally found his way back and wishing everybody a very Blessed Christmas and that 2020 will be a good year.
Glad you can get some rest now, Shirly. At least the rain will keep your tanks filled. God bless you for your kindness to others.
May you have all the blessings of Christmas now and throughout the New Year.
Welcome home, Shirley. Hope to see more of you, once you have had a chance to catch your breath, so to speak.
